With a fresh lockdown looming, mid October seemed the perfect time for a cheeky 3 day bike packing trip along the South Downs way. Although the covid lockdown meant the drinking water taps had mostly been shut off, the Water-to-Go bike bottles were perfect for the job. Having used the previous bottles cycling in Rwanda and on the Camino, they were great for filtering water but didn’t fit standard bike cages and it was hard to squeeze water out. The latest version was ideal for bike packing, sitting snugly in a standard cage, you can squeeze water out on the go without sucking (avoids a mouthful of grit sprayed up by the wheels) and even a real bonus – the flip cap meant when I dropped it in a cow pat, after a quick rinse off, the drinking valve inside the cap was nicely protected from the manure, so was able to keep drinking! Overall a nicely designed bit of kit that is ideal for bike packing.
