Water-to-Go -Travel Shows – January 2020

Water-to-Go have been Exhibiting at Adventure Travel Show, Vakantiebeurs and Destinations Travel Show 2020

It’s been a busy start to the year at Water-to-Go, having exhibited at three brilliant travel shows in the space of just one month. We kicked off our travel show season in the Netherlands at Vakantibeurs exhibiting from Wednesday 15th January until Sunday 19th. The very same weekend we were also delighted to once again be attending the Adventure Travel Show much closer to home at the Olympia London. We would then return to the Olympia 11 days later for the Destinations travel show 2020.

Water-to-Go at Vakantibeurs

Our first year at Vakatibeurs was certainly one to remember, as we once again encouraged both individual travellers and major travel companies to be conscious of their plastic footprint. We started on Wednesday with a trade day, having conversations with lots of different travel companies about reducing plastic waste and providing clients with safe, clean drinking water anywhere in the world. The next four days, we were continuing our conversations, but this time we were talking to travellers about how they can take action and stop contributing towards the world’s single-use plastic problem.

Incredible Oceans in the Netherlands

We were lucky enough to be joined by our charity partners Incredible Oceans who, as always, brought with them a stunning display. It was hard to miss the stand with a 10-metre long inflatable whale suspended from the ceiling, a jellyfish display made from single-use plastics, endless amounts of bottle-top chains all of which were collected from beach clean-ups and an origami coral reef display meant their stand was certainly one to remember. Incredible Oceans joined us to help raise awareness about the environmental destruction caused by single-use plastics, which they did in spectacular style.

Incredible Oceans is a not-for-profit organisation, running education programmes, events and festivals using charismatic marine creatures to tell critical ocean stories but in entertaining ways. They believe that everyone should know about our oceans. Oceans are essential for us and all life on Earth, yet we carelessly mistreat our blue planet through marine pollution including the scourge of ocean plastics. Adventure Travel Show

We then turned our attention towards the Adventure Travel Show at Olympia London. It was great to once again be exhibiting, and this year we were surrounded by many of our travel partners including Pioneer Adventures, KE Adventure, Mountain Kingdoms, The Bucket List Company, Dragoman, Exodus, and all the other travel companies we are in conversations with. It was also great to see Water-to-Go Ambassador Chaz Powell at the show. Chaz was working alongside our charity partner – African Wildlife Foundation just a few metres away- so as well as speaking at the show Chaz occasionally popped over to the stand for a selfie with a customer and himself – in the flesh and display panel!

Destinations Travel Show

We then had a quick turnaround to be once again exhibiting at Destinations Travel Show. Situated opposite the Stanford’s Travel Writers Festival, we were excited to once again team up with them to provide our bespoke branded bottles to those speaking at the Festival. Back at our own stand we were delighted to be able to offer travellers and show attendees clean, safe drinking water for all manner of holidays they may be embarking on, whilst also helping them to reduce their plastic footprint. We were also very happy to catch up with our youngest ambassador Paolo Ben Salmi, who even managed to take time out of his busy schedule to give us a hand on the stand, thanks Paolo!

Water-to-Go Presents: Adventurers on an Eco-mission

We were also excited to be hosting two talks on the Travel Smarter stage at Destinations this year. Our two very insightful and well-attended talks on the Thursday and Sunday featured a panel of Water-to-Go Ambassadors including adventurers Chaz Powell and Ollie Hunter-Smart along with freelance fashion designer Lottie Woods. The two fantastic talks focussed on our three Ambassadors sharing stories of their experiences and adventures as well as practical ways in which they and you can travel smarter and sustainably to help travellers maximise their experience and minimise their impact.

We’ll see you next year!

If you didn’t manage to catch us this year, keep an eye out for us at next year’s shows. Or if you are a keen cyclist we will be exhibiting at the London Bike Show at Excel London in March, showcasing our new Active bottle.
